Hello everyone, I am here again with a new blog for you my dear readers of each blog I publish about my classes. In this week, we saw and learned about Learning Styles.

What is the learning styles?

The term learning styles is widely used to describe how learners gather, sift through, interpret, organize, come to conclusions about, and “store” information for further use.  As spelled out in VARK (one of the most popular learning styles inventories), these styles are often categorized by sensory approaches:  visual, aural, verbal [reading/writing], and kinesthetic.

The VARK learning styles model suggests that most people can be divided into one of three preferred styles of learning. Many of the models that don’t resemble the VARK’s sensory focus are reminiscent of Felder and Silverman’s Index of Learning Styles, with a continuum of descriptors for how learners process and organize information:  active-reflective, sensing-intuitive, verbal-visual, and sequential-global.

People commonly have a main preferred learning style, but this will be part of a blend of all three. Some people have a very strong preference; other people have a more even mixture of two, or less commonly, three styles.

And we had an exercise about this topic, these are my result of the VARK tests taken in class.

Now add up how many A's, B's, and C's I selected.

A's = 14

B's = 11

C's = 5  

Now I explain to you, what I think about my results is that I have a visual learning style rather than auditory and kinesthetic. However, it does not mean that I am bad in the others but at least in the auditory one I almost got the same score.
