Learning Styles๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Learning Styles๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜

Hello everyone, I am here again with a new blog for you my dear readers of each blog I publish about my classes. In this week, we saw and learned about Learning Styles.

What is the learning styles?

The term learning styles is widely used to describe how learners gather, sift through, interpret, organize, come to conclusions about, and “store” information for further use.  As spelled out in VARK (one of the most popular learning styles inventories), these styles are often categorized by sensory approaches:  visual, aural, verbal [reading/writing], and kinesthetic.

The VARK learning styles model suggests that most people can be divided into one of three preferred styles of learning. Many of the models that don’t resemble the VARK’s sensory focus are reminiscent of Felder and Silverman’s Index of Learning Styles, with a continuum of descriptors for how learners process and organize information:  active-reflective, sensing-intuitive, verbal-visual, and sequential-global.

People commonly have a main preferred learning style, but this will be part of a blend of all three. Some people have a very strong preference; other people have a more even mixture of two, or less commonly, three styles.

And we had an exercise about this topic, these are my result of the VARK tests taken in class.

Now add up how many A's, B's, and C's I selected.

A's = 14
B's = 11
C's = 5
Now I explain to you, what I think about my results is that I have a visual learning style rather than auditory and kinesthetic. However, it does not mean that I am bad in the others but at least in the auditory one I almost got the same score.

Well, with this I conclude, I am very grateful to my beloved readers, it makes me happy to see that my blogs help you understand some topics, and learn together with me week by week what I see in classes, remember that this week from March 25 to March 29 In March there will be no blog due to the holidays, have a nice week and enjoy your holidays, see you on April 2, be sure to read my blogs and enjoy the photos and videos that will appear below.

Multiple Intelligences ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’†☝

 ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’†☝Multiple Intelligences ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’†☝

Hello everyone, I am here again with a new blog for you my dear readers of each blog I publish about my classes.

In this week, we saw and learned about Multiple Intelligences. What is Multiple Intelligences?  The concept of multiple intelligences is a theory proposed by Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner. When you hear the word intelligence, the concept of IQ testing may immediately come to mind. Intelligence is often defined as our intellectual potential; something we are born with, something that can be measured, and a capacity that is difficult to change.

In recent years, however, other views of intelligence have emerged, including Gardner's suggestion that multiple different types of intelligence may exist. The eight intelligences according to Gardner are:

  1. Visual-spatial
  2. Linguistic-verbal
  3. Logical-mathematical
  4. Body-kinesthetic
  5. Musical
  6. Interpersonal
  7. Intrapersonal
  8. Naturalistic

In fact, by seeing and analyzing the characteristics of each Intelligence, I have been understanding that I have the ability to understand mathematics, be intrapersonal, and understand the characteristics of music.

The theory of multiple intelligences proposes the differentiation of human intelligence into specific intelligences, rather than defining intelligence as a single, general ability. The theory has been very popular among educators around the world for 40 years despite being criticized by mainstream psychology for its lack of empirical evidence, and its dependence on subjective judgement.

Characteristics of each of them

Musical

This area of intelligence with sensitivity to the sounds, rhythms, and tones of music. People with musical intelligence normally have good pitch or might possess absolute pitch, and are able to sing, play musical instruments, and compose music. They have sensitivity to rhythm, pitch, meter, tone, melody or timbre.

Visual-spatial

This area deals with spatial judgment and the ability to visualize with the mind's eye. Spatial ability is one of the three factors beneath g in the hierarchical model of intelligence.

Linguistic

People with high verbal-linguistic intelligence display a facility with words and languages. They are typically good at reading, writing, telling stories and memorizing words along with dates. Verbal ability is one of the most g-loaded abilities. This type of intelligence is measured with the Verbal IQ in WAIS-IV.

Logical-mathematical

This area has to do with logic, abstractions, reasoning, numbers and critical thinking. This also has to do with having the capacity to understand the underlying principles of some kind of causal system. Logical reasoning is closely linked to fluid intelligence and to general intelligence (g factor).

Bodily-kinesthetic

The core elements of the bodily-kinesthetic intelligence are control of one's bodily motions and the capacity to handle objects skillfully. Gardner elaborates to say that this also includes a sense of timing, a clear sense of the goal of a physical action, along with the ability to train responses.

People who have high bodily-kinesthetic intelligence should be generally good at physical activities such as sports, dance and making things.

Gardner believes that careers that suit those with high bodily-kinesthetic intelligence include: athletes, dancers, musicians, actors, builders, police officers, and soldiers. Although these careers can be duplicated through virtual simulation, they will not produce the actual physical learning that is needed in this intelligence.

Interpersonal

In theory, individuals who have high interpersonal intelligence are characterized by their sensitivity to others' moods, feelings, temperaments, motivations, and their ability to cooperate to work as part of a group. According to Gardner in How Are Kids Smart: Multiple Intelligences in the Classroom, "Inter- and Intra- personal intelligence is often misunderstood with being extroverted or liking other people". "Those with high interpersonal intelligence communicate effectively and empathize easily with others, and may be either leaders or followers. They often enjoy discussion and debate." Gardner has equated this with emotional intelligence of Goleman.

Gardner believes that careers that suit those with high interpersonal intelligence include sales persons, politicians, managers, teachers, lecturers, counselors and social workers.

Intrapersonal

This area has to do with introspective and self-reflective capacities. This refers to having a deep understanding of the self; what one's strengths or weaknesses are, what makes one unique, being able to predict one's own reactions or emotions.

Naturalistic

Not part of Gardner's original seven, naturalistic intelligence was proposed by him in 1995. "If I were to rewrite Frames of Mind today, I would probably add an eighth intelligence – the intelligence of the naturalist. It seems to me that the individual who is readily able to recognize flora and fauna, to make other consequential distinctions in the natural world, and to use this ability productively (in hunting, in farming, in biological science) is exercising an important intelligence and one that is not adequately encompassed in the current list."This area has to do with nurturing and relating information to one's natural surroundings. Examples include classifying natural forms such as animal and plant species and rocks and mountain types. This ability was clearly of value in our evolutionary past as hunters, gatherers, and farmers; it continues to be central in such roles as botanist or chef.

This sort of ecological receptiveness is deeply rooted in a "sensitive, ethical, and holistic understanding" of the world and its complexities – including the role of humanity within the greater ecosphere.

Now photos and videos about the class, in advance I thank every reader who has been on my blogs. Get ready for next week's blog.

Collaborative Approach ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’™

 ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’™Collaborative Approach ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’™

Hello everyone, I'm back with new topics, period 2, and most importantly with new blogs of the week.

Involves pupils working together on activities or learning tasks in a group small enough to ensure that everyone participates. Pupils in the group may work on separate tasks contributing to a common overall outcome, or work together on a shared task.

Communitive Language Learning

๐Ÿ‘‰I need learn my atribe" to learn .
๐Ÿ‘‰They back me up .
๐Ÿ‘‰Nothing prepared; just go with the flow.
๐Ÿ‘‰Record students' conversation.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Analyze the conversation and teach from the findings.

Content-based learning

๐Ÿ‘‰Considered to be collaborative when group work is promoted. Linside the classroom.

Task-based learning

๐Ÿ‘‰Groupwork evoles to teamwork.
๐Ÿ‘‰Small steps lead students to the achivement of big objectives.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Planning is needed.
๐Ÿ‘‰Short activities can be considered as tash-based, but usually well-crafted projects are required.

And in which we worked in groups, talking about controversial topics that Mr. Orlando presented to us, placing a monitor for each group, to note if any member of the group did not know how to say a word or phrase in English, or if someone had mispronounced a word.

Now I'll show you a pair of photos and videos of what I saw this week, enjoy it, and we'll see you next week, bye.

Last Blog - Period 1๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ฌ

๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ฌ Last Blog - Period 1๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Hi everybody how are you?

As you saw in the title, it is the last blog of this week and of period 1. We finished with the presentations on Tuesday, in which I also gave my presentation as a teacher, the other groups were undoubtedly impressive, I still have not passed the last week's presentation of the mimes in the group of Regina, Misael and Irene.

On Tuesday we presented the groups made up of Nayeli, Stefany, Soad, and Taรญs. Emmanuel, William, and Kimberly. Madeline Montes, Fabiola, Daniela, Katya Amaya, and Katya Leonor. Alisson Canales, Gรฉnesis, and Iliana. Elsy, Alejandra, Mirella, and Marvin. And the group that Fatima, Pedro and I work with.

And to end the week with a flourish, on Thursday we took our first midterm exam, in which everyone, including me, felt that we had forgotten the methods that we explained and studied.
